Disqualification Suit Filed Against Rep. Scott Perry in Pennsylvania
The plaintiff alleges that Perry engaged in insurrection and is therefore disqualified from holding office under the 14th Amendment.

On Jan. 2, Gene Stilp, a registered voter in Pennsylvania, filed a lawsuit seeking to bar Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.) from the 2024 Republican primary ballot in the state under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. In the filing, Stilp asserts that Perry is barred from holding office under the statute because of his alleged participation in “fake elector scheme,” and that he was “involved in the effort to, influence, or disrupt the counting of Election College votes” to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
