On March 23, Manhattan District Attorney (DA) Alvin Bragg issued a response to a letter sent by three House Republicans that requested Bragg’s testimony about, and congressional oversight of, the potential indictment of former President Donald Trump in New York County.
In the letter, Bragg explains that Reps. Jim Jordan (R.-Ohio), James Comer (R.-Ky.), and Bryan Steil (R.-Wis.) have demonstrated no legitimate legislative reason for congressional oversight of the New York special grand jury’s investigation and that the Republicans’ allegation that the DA’s office is pursuing a prosecution of Trump for political purposes is “unfounded.”
