White House Releases Implementation Plan for National Cybersecurity Strategy

The implementation plan is a roadmap to accomplishing the objectives announced in March.

On July 13, the Biden administration published the implementation plan for the national cybersecurity strategy. The strategy, which was published in March, identified five key areas of work: 1) Defend Critical Infrastructure; 2) Disrupt and Dismantle Threat Actors; 3) Shape Market Forces to Drive Security and Resilience; 4) Invest in a Resilient Future; and 5) Forge International Partnerships to Pursue Shared Goals. Each of these pillars was subdivided into several strategic objectives.

The implementation plan elaborates further on the elements of each initiative, assigns each strategic objective to a responsible agency, and sets a timeline for completion of each one. The Office of the National Cyber Director will coordinate the implementation plan across the eighteen agencies assigned to lead initiatives.
